About Ultimate Clean
I started Ultimate Clean in 2009 out of Dalkeith with one van and a simple idea: do the job properly and stand behind it. Fifteen years later, nothing's changed. I'm still the one who shows up, still the one who answers the phone, and still the one responsible if something's not right.

With our truck-mounted hot water extraction system, most carpets are dry within 4–6 hours. This is significantly faster than portable machines used by many cleaners. Good ventilation (open windows or fans) speeds the process. We recommend staying off carpets for at least 2 hours.

For the best results, clearing smaller items from the floor is helpful. We can work around and under most furniture, and for heavier pieces like sofas and beds, we'll do our best to clean as much of the carpet as possible. Just let us know when you book and we'll advise based on your specific situation.
Many old stains respond very well to our specialist stain treatments — including red wine, coffee, pet stains and mud. Some stains that have been heat-set (e.g. by steam irons or hot water) may be permanent regardless of the cleaning method used. We'll always give you an honest assessment before we start, so there are no surprises.
For most households, every 12–18 months is ideal for maintaining clean, healthy carpets. Homes with children, pets or allergy sufferers benefit from more frequent cleaning — every 6–12 months. High-traffic areas like hallways and stairs may need attention more often. Regular professional cleaning also extends carpet life significantly.
